What clients are saying…
Heidi did an incredible job editing my first mystery. First she took the time to read the manuscript to get to know the story and the characters which ensured that her edits and suggestions fit the story line. Heidi did much more than correct errors in punctuation, spelling and grammar, she also pointed out things that needed further clarification, inconsistencies, redundant language, and areas of author intrusion that helped me create a better flow to my story. I highly recommend Heidi and will definitely call her to help me with future book editing.
Heidi was recommended to me by a friend. It was very easy talking to her about my company’s needs and goals. Heidi is professional and personable and took the time to get to know me and my LLC. She took an interest in understanding the details of the ins and outs of how we operate, our teaching and business styles, and the overall long term goal of what we intend to accomplish. Each time Heidi sent me an update I was thrilled. Heidi fine-tuned my website information and added a quality of professionalism. I found her ideas to be refreshing and inputting them changes how potential clients perceive my website. She understood the message I wanted out there, but by myself I wasn’t quite getting there. She would suggest a change and explain to me why and how it would validate the message and image my LLC was delivering. Additionally, while Heidi was working on the website I needed a client business proposal created right away. Heidi designed and wrote the presentation and I obtained the client’s business for the upcoming year. I would highly recommend Heidi without hesitation. I know we’ll continue to have her as our editor on future projects as well.
Heidi revised my outdated resume. I have never had a resume so nice and polished. Heidi did a superb job.
Heidi is the best editor I have ever worked with. She has been exclusively editing my financial reports for the past five years. These reports are highly technical and Heidi is excellent at finding the best words to convey my message to the reader without changing the theme. She truly adds value to every document and report she has edited for my company. She is also flexible and responsive when needed to meet deadlines. Her pricing is also fair. The bottom line is she is an excellent editor.
A few years ago, I needed to reenter the job force due to my husband’s death. I hadn’t worked full time in years and really didn’t know how to go about putting a resume together. At that point, I didn’t even really think I had garnered employable skills beyond my formal education. I wrote out my education and volunteer activities. I organized my resume the way I organize my house. It works for me, but few others would see the structure in it. Heidi had me trim some items that I expounded on a little too eloquently, and had me expand others that I was pretty terse on. Heidi understands employers’ mindsets and how to lay out a resume so that with a quick glance a potential employer will be intrigued. She was always so patient and helpful, and at the end I could look at my resume and think that I would want to hire that person. What she especially helped with was seeing skills that I had learned by being involved with life and how to show those on a resume.
As an editor, it is great to have another editor to work with on my personal writing as well as community and business needs, and when I need a real "eagle eye" proofreader, she's my first call. Heidi can always be depended on to find those little things that are wrong, or can be said better, that often are overlooked by others. She has a strong sensibility about writing, and always considers the reader's understanding of the words written. I recommend her highly.
I graduated a few years ago with a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering and was unable to find a job in the field. I had taken a retail job to pay the bills. The resume advisor at the university I graduated from told me to use active words and make my retail job a positive experience on my resume. She really wasn’t specific enough to improve my resume. When I worked with Heidi she made suggestions for my resume in terms I could follow. That retail “positive” experience was learning the importance of logistics and planning. Before I felt like I was banging my head against the wall trying to revise my resume. With Heidi’s guidance, I was able to present my retail work experience in a more relevant way by highlighting transferrable skills.
